COMPLETE PAVING SOLUTIONS

THE RIGHT SERVICE STARTS WITH THE RIGHT PLAN

Not every pavement problem requires complete replacement. Depending on the surface condition, underlying base, drainage and intended use, the right solution may be targeted repair, resurfacing, preventive maintenance or a new installation.

Chris Paving MS evaluates the property before recommending a scope of work, helping ensure the selected service addresses both the immediate problem and the pavement’s long-term performance.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR OPTIONS

WHAT DOES YOUR PAVEMENT NEED?

The visible surface tells only part of the story. The right service depends on the pavement’s age, base stability, drainage, cracking and overall condition.

BUILD

NEW PAVING

Best for: New construction, unpaved surfaces or pavement with widespread structural and base failure.

The property is graded and a stable base is prepared before asphalt is installed and compacted to create a new paved surface.

RENEW

ASPHALT RESURFACING

Best for: Structurally sound pavement with widespread surface wear, oxidation or moderate cracking.

A new asphalt layer is installed over the prepared existing surface, restoring appearance and performance without completely rebuilding the base.

CORRECT

ASPHALT REPAIR

Best for: Isolated potholes, failed areas, edge damage and localized pavement deterioration.

The damaged material is removed or corrected before the affected area is patched and compacted to restore a safer, more usable surface.

PROTECT

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Best for: Pavement that remains structurally sound but is beginning to show normal weathering and wear.

Crack sealing, sealcoating, striping and scheduled maintenance help slow deterioration and reduce water-related damage.

SERVICE QUESTIONS

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PAVING SERVICE

How do I know whether pavement needs repair, resurfacing or replacement?

The correct service depends on the extent of the damage and the condition of the underlying base. Isolated potholes or failed areas may be repaired, while widespread surface deterioration may be suitable for resurfacing. Extensive base failure, movement or drainage problems may require removal and replacement.

What is the difference between sealcoating and asphalt resurfacing?

Sealcoating is a protective surface treatment intended for structurally sound asphalt. It helps reduce damage from water, oxidation, and sunlight but does not correct structural failures. Resurfacing installs a new layer of asphalt over a properly prepared existing surface.

Can new asphalt be installed over existing pavement?

Yes, in some cases. An asphalt overlay may be appropriate when the existing pavement and base remain stable, and the additional surface height will not create drainage or transition problems. Pavement with significant base failure may need to be removed and rebuilt instead.

What pavement maintenance services do you provide?

Maintenance options may include asphalt patching, crack sealing, sealcoating, parking lot striping and correction of localized failed areas. The recommended services depend on the pavement’s current condition and expected use.

When is limestone a good alternative to asphalt?

Limestone can be a practical option for certain driveways, access roads, parking areas and lower-traffic surfaces. Proper grading, drainage and base preparation are still important, and limestone generally requires more ongoing maintenance than a finished asphalt surface.
